Romar Benjamin Gil Aguilar was born on October 6, 1972 in Tijuana, Mexico. Known as Gil Benji, he is a former utility player of the Major League Baseball. He joined MLB on April 5, 1993 via the Texas Rangers. He was picked from round one of the 1991 Amateur Draft by the Rangers. He was a shortstop who batted and threw with his right hand. A member of Anaheim Angels, he was a significant player for the Angels to win the 2002 World Series over San Francisco Giants. He was released by the Anaheim Angels right after the beginning of the 2003 season and signed contracts with several teams including Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs,and Detroit Tigers. Benji Gil also played for the teams Colorado Rockies and Seattle Mariners. However, Benji Gil did not make roster in the Major League in any of the teams. He played his final game on July 31, 2003 in Major Baseball League. In his entire baseball career, he made a batting average of .237.
