Gerald Antonio Riggs is a retired professional football player who hails from Tullos, Louisiana. He had his high school football career at Bonanza High School where he played as a running back and went to Arizona State University to have his college football experience. His professional career debuted at the National Football League as a player for the Atlanta Falcons in the 1982 season. According to reviews, he was a great pass receiver and was included in a few Pro Bowl teams starting the 1985 season. Sources say he had his prime season in 1985, when he made 1, 719 rushing yards and made ten touchdowns. That season, he also logged 33 passes for 267 yards. He recorded 5, 212 rushing and receiving yards in three consecutive seasons from 1984. He spent a total of seven years as a member of the Atlanta Falcons and has recorded 6, 631 yards for the team. That record was the highest in the history of the franchise. After a celebrated stint with the Falcons, he joined the Washington Redskins in 1989. He left the team in 1991. In his last year, he made 248 rushing yards and scored 11 touchdowns, which helped the team to a record of 14-2. He was also part of the team that played in the Super Bowl XXVI. After ten seasons in the National Football League, he left professional football with a record of 8, 188 rushing yards and 201 received passes for 1, 516 yards.
