Kenny Walker is a former American professional basketball player and is currently a radio host for WVLK in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Roberta, Georgia and took his college education when he attended the University of Kentucky where he also played college basketball. Walker had a very triumphant college career, being named for four times to an All-SEC team and twice on the All-American team. Walker's Kentucky team made it to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament in 1984 before losing to the Georgetown Hoyas. Walker played as forward for two teams in the National Basketball Association; the New York Knicks and the Washington Bullets. Walker is 6 ft. 8 in. and 210 lbs. He began his professional career in the National Basketball Association after he was drafted by the New York Knicks during the 1986 NBA Draft where he was a first round pick of the team. Throughout his five year career with the Knicks, Walker played for five coaches. On February 11, 1989, Walker won his lone career highlight was winning the 1989 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Walker's success in the NBA declined during his later seasons with the Knicks and his knee injuries forced him to leave the NBA and join the Spanish league, Liga ABC. In 1993, Walker returned to the NBA to play briefly for two seasons with the Washington Bullets.
