Kevin Weekes is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and is currently a color commentator on Hockey Night in Canada, and an NHL studio analyst. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Throughout his fourteen year career, Weekes played as goaltender for numerous teams in the National Hockey League; Florida Panthers, Vancouver Canucks, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes, New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils. Weekes is 6 ft. 2 in. and 215 lbs. and shoots left handed. He started his professional ice hockey career after he was drafted by the Florida Panthers during the 1993 NHL draft where he was a second round pick of the Panthers and joined the team for the 1997–98 seasons. The following seasons, Weekes was traded to the Vancouver Canucks and gathered up a 6–15–5 record in his thirty one appearances over a season. Then halfway through the 1999–2000 seasons, Weekes was traded to the New York Islanders. At the end of the 1999-00 seasons, Weekes was then dealt to the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he played until the 2001–02 seasons before he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes where he played in tandem with Arturs Irbe, to lead the Hurricanes in winning the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals.
