Kirk Gibson is a retired professional baseball player. He was active in the Major League Baseball from 1979 to 1995. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan and went to Michigan State University where he played college football. During that season, Gibson had a .290 batting average and hit 25 homeruns. The Dodgers went all the way to the World Series in 1988. Gibson hit a homerun that would secure their win over the Oakland Athletics for that particular game.
