Lawrence Funderburke is a retired professional basketball player for the NBA. He played basketball when he attended high school in Ohio. He entered Indiana University but decided to transfer to transfer to Ohio State University during his sophomore year. Together with teammate Jimmy Jackson, he led the varsity team to the 1992 Big Ten Championship. His NBA career started after he was selected by the Sacramento Kings during the second round of the 1994 NBA Draft. However, he did not play in the NBA straightaway. Instead, he played in European league. Funderburke played for the Ambelokipi and the PAOK BC of Greece and the Pau-Orthnez of France. Funderburke finally played his NBA debut game in 1997 for the Kings. During his rookie year, he managed to average 9.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg. He was Chris Webber's back up the entire time he played for the Kings. He was waived by the Kings in 2004 and signed with the Chicago Bulls in 2005.
