L'ubomir Visnovsky was born on August 11, 1976 in Topolcany, Czechoslovakia. This 33 year- old man stands 5 feet 10 inches (1.78m) and weighs 188 pounds (85kg.) He is a Slovak professional ice hockey defense man. He shoots left and presently playing for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. He also played for the Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers in the NHL. Before playing for the NHL, he played for the Slovan Bratislava a football team based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Visnovsky, as the fourth choice was drafted 118th overall in the 2000 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. He made the team for the 2000 to 2001 season and was part of the NHL All-Rookie Team. Recording a career-high statistic of 67 points, he stayed with the Kings for 7 seasons in 2005 to 2006. For the locked out 2004 to 2005 season, he returned to play in his home country and was voted as the best player in Slovakia. The Kings traded Visnovsky to the Edmonton Oilers in June of 2008. After dislocating his shoulder in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks , he was put on the injured reserved on February of 2009. Later on, it was announced that Visnovsky will have a season-ending because of surgery to repair his labrum. His achievements and awards include Best defenceman in Slovakia in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005. He was voted as best player in Slovakia in 2005. He was also named to the NHL All-Rookie team in 2001 and played in the NHL All-Star Game in 2007.
