Malik Jabari Rose is a retired professional basketball player and at present works as a broadcaster. He spent his high school days at the Overbrook High School and was a major player in college for the Drexel University. He led the Drexel Dragons to their only NCAA Tournament win against the University of Memphis . Rose turned pro after he was selected by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2nd round of the 1996 National Basketball Association Draft as the 44th overall pick. After spending one season with the Hornets, he was sent to the San Antonio Spurs and played for them from 1997 to 2005. His 2 NBA Championship tilts were with the Spurs; one was in 1999 when they defeated the New York Knicks and another in 2003 against the New Jersey Nets. In 2005, he was sent to the New York Knicks and then to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2009. In December the same year, Rose was released by the Thunders. He then worked in the Madison Square Garden Network as a pregame analyst for the Knicks and served as a color analyst for the Austin Toros of the NBA D- League. During his career, he had a record of 6.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and .8 assists per game in a total of 813 regular season games played.
