Mark Quinn is a former American professional baseball player. Born in La Miranda, California, Quinn took his college education at William Marsh Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he played for two seasons with the Rice University Owls before he was drafted to the Major Leagues. Quinn started his professional career after being drafted in July 1, 1995 by the Kansas City Royals in the 1995 amateur draft, where he was the 11th round pick of the said team. Quinn, being listed 6 ft. 1 in. and 175 lbs., batted and threw with his right and posed as outfielder. Quinn had his debut game on September 14, 1999. He played for the Royals from 1999 to 2002. Following his release from the Kansas City Royals throughout the Spring Training of 2003, Quinn played for the San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, St. Louis Cardinals, and Chicago White Sox, along with a stint in the Golden Baseball League where he played for the Long Beach Armada. Quinn, who has 45 home runs in his career, surpassed his fellow Royals alumnus Jamie Quirk who has total of 43, which gives Quinn the second-most home runs all time for a roster whose last name begins with Q. Quinn signed a contract in the minor leagues on July 8, 2006. He was released a month later and retired for good before the 2007 season.
