Robert Reichel scored the lone shootout goal for the Czech Republic in their semi-final win over Canada in the Winter Olympics in 1998. He played in the National Hockey League for the Calgary Flames , New York Islanders, Phoenix Coyote and Toronto Maple Leafs. During his career, he was given the Directorate Award for Best Forward and All-Star Selection by the IIHF world junior hockey championship in 1990.
