Ronald Wray Hodges is a former Major League Baseball player who spent his entire playing career with the New York Mets. Born on June 22, 1949, he hails from Rocky Mount, Virginia. He was a sixth round pick by the Baltimore Orioles in the 1970 amateur draft of the Major Baseball League but did not sign a deal with the team. He was drafted again in 1971, this time by the Kansas City Royals during the first round of the 1971 amateur draft. Again, he opted not to sign with the team and did the same with the Atlanta Braves who drafted him in 1971 amateur draft. Finally, he signed with the New York Mets in 1972 after being drafted in the second round of the 1972 amateur draft. His first MLB appearance was on June 13, 1973 and remained with the team in the postseason. He appeared in one game in 1973 World Series. He stayed with the team for 12 seasons and in 1984, retired from playing professional baseball. He posted a career record of .240 batting average and .342 on-base percentage with 19 home runs, 1426 at-bats and 147 runs batted in. He appeared in 666 games in his entire career.
