Gregory Scott “Woody” Williams is a retired Major League Baseball starting pitcher. He throws and bats right- handed. He is from Houston, Texas and attended high school at Cy- Fair. He went to college in the University of Houston. Williams was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays and made his first MLB game appearance on May 14, 1993 against the New York Yankees, a game that the Blue Jays won. He started as a relief pitcher and was later moved as a full time starter in 1997. In 1998, he was traded to the San Diego Padres where he worked solely as a starter. He was then traded off to the St. Louis Cardinals on August 2001. His performance was remarkable during his stay with the Cardinals, helping them make it to the 2004 World Series.
